Obama Thanks Ron Paul
Wednesday, 5 November 2008

President-elect Barack Obama thanked Republican Ron Paul late Tuesday night for helping him win the election. Obama attributed his win, in part, to Ron Paul's message.
"It was the Constitution thing that did it for me," Obama said. Ron Paul had consistently emphasized the Constitution in his primary bid. Obama waxed about the epiphany that resulted: "He reminded me of what we learned in law school ... about how the Constitution underpins our country."
In the coming weeks, the Barack Obama campaign is expected to choose cabinet members. Ron Paul is in line for a key role, perhaps as Secretary of the Treasury. "It's all about change," said Obama at a rally in Chicago, "and Ron Paul can make change. We will adopt the Ron Paul economic agenda, take down the Federal Reserve, and stop wasting your money."
Ron Paul was reached in Galveston Texas, and sounded pleased. "I knew there was hope for Obama. This'll calm the fringe elements of my following down and we'll get to work."
