image for Weapons That Make Drones Look Primitive Are Of Concern
PASTOR APPEARS ON CNN

"Killer robots" are fully autonomous weapons. These robots are weapons that would make drones look primitive. With the drone, there is a human being who looks at the computer screen, sees the target and pushes the buttons to fire the missiles and kill.

But the U.S. military, through universities and private corporations, is doing research on weapons that would have no human being involved in the targeting and killing of other humans.

These things haven't been used yet. But there are many precursors to what we call "killer robots." The US is testing the X-47B, which is a sub-sonic "superdrone" as it is called.

There are prototypes from the stealth drones all the way down to micro-robots which are the size of the mosquito, that could fly into a room and either do surveillance or fly into the room and inject a toxin and kill the target.

It wouldn't take a human being to actually switch killer robots on and direct them.

Of course humans would program the 'bot but once it was set free, it would proceed to make the targeting and kill decisions

Joseph Mengele of the conservative think tank, "Ethics For America," thinks they're a good idea.

"The morally free autonomous killer 'bots would be free of human emotional concerns. We wouldn't have to worry about collateral damage. We could just go after the bad guys regardless of consequences."

Of course others disagree. "I find it shocking and horrifying that people are really thinking that it is OK to give the right to target and kill human beings to machines," said Noam Chomsky, retired MIT professor.

Mengele appeared last night on CNN with Wolf Blitzer. Chomsky, of course, was not invited due to media's blackout of the radical professor.

Equally qualified opponents of the government's killer robots program such, as nobel prizewinner Jody Williams of "Campaign To Stop Killer Robots" were not invited to appear.

Ms. Williams has been characterized as "extremely radical left" by Neo-Conservative think tanks and, it is only speculation, but CNN probably did not invite her on the show because of potential negative effects on its multi-national corporate sponsors.

Instead, Professor Herald Lame of Piedmont College, GA, and a "bible school," appeared to confront Dr. Mengele. He proved to be a poor anti-killer 'bot advocate as he used the show to tell of the nearness of "End Times."

Blitzer, in response to criticism of his choice of Dr. lame stated:

"Dr. Lane's critics are bigoted critics of the right-wing Christian perspective. He is a respected professor of Rapture Studies and a major Tea Party leader. Many of our viewers are Tea Partiers and literalist Bible believers. We must take into account the views of all of our viewers, not simply those of left-wing atheists who didn't like the show."

Make Keith Shirey's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)
