Over 2,000 Spanish youths staged an overnight protest in Madrid against high unemployment.
A number of political commentators have compared the nature of the protest to that of the pro-democracy rallies that galvanised Egypt.
Certainly, many of the protesters rode around Puerta Del Sol Square on camels borrowed from Madrid Zoo, while hundreds of others built night shelters in the shape of the Pyramids.
Volunteer workers spent the night distributing copious amounts of pita bread and baklava.
Protest leader, 21 year old Nacho Delgado, enthused : "We youngsters in Spain are often accused by our elders of being stupid.
We remembered that the demonstrations in Egypt had been successful so we mimicked them.
The old ones will be laughing on the other side of their faces now".
