France is in turmoil after allegations were published in the national newspaper Le Monde that a man had been photographed wiping his behind on the French flag.
Justice officials have called this form of behaviour "totally unacceptable" and have launched an immediate and urgent enquiry. They have vowed to use the full force of the law to take the offender off the streets.
French police have reason to believe that the alleged perpetrator is a politically active cross dresser who goes by the names of Ursula Andrex or Arsene Wiper and is also known on the streets as The Tricolour Trickler.
Enquiries are continuing.
