Everything was going just fine at a busy Bangkok market last Friday night, until spots of rain began to fall from a cloudy sky, prompting traders to panic and cover their wares with plastic sheets, to avoid them becoming soaked.
The threatened downpour, however, soon abated, and after a period of about fifteen minutes, trading resumed as normal, leaving the merchants laughing at themselves for being too concerned at a few drops of rain.
One trader, who was selling ladies underwear, was heard to say to his neighbour, who sold sports bags:
"O-ho! The rain has stopped!"
His neighbour replied:
"Yes!"
Eventually, the threat of rain diminished, and the sale of utter tat went on as normal, with takings reported to be 'about average'.
