Yang Linchuan of the Sun Yat-sen Academy of Arts and Sciences shocked his classroom full of students by stripping naked. He did this so that they would have a live model to work from.
Mr. Yang said he was forced to strip when the female model he had scheduled for his class to paint didn't show up.
Many male students said they did not think it was appropriate for a professor to strip naked although they would have had no problem if female uni-mates shucked it all off.
Female students giggled behind their hands saying "he has a bum like two little steamed dumplings"
Since China is a country with some traditional and out-dated views on sex, nudity and pornography some commentators have applauded Mr. Yang for his courage and daring.
Many of his supporters lined up naked at the Great Wall in a show of solidarity.
Mr. Yang said he was truly humbled by all the attention he has received.
