Berlin, Germany - In emerging news, Paul the amazing Octupus has been found dead in a lobster tank at a popular Berlin restaurant.
It is believed some Spanish football fans kidnapped Paul and took him out to dinner in celebration of Spain's victory in the World Cup and also to reward Paul for his contribution.
Unfortunately, the Spanish fans unwittingly placed him in a lobster tank while they dined on calamari.
Not realising that the lobster was in fact a North Sea lobster found commonly in the waters off The Netherlands, Paul was hopelessly left to his own demise as the lobster viciously cut him up for instant gratification.
Shocked patrons at the restaurant formed a guard of honour as Paul's remains were removed from the tank and transferred to the aquarium from where he was abducted.
German President Angela Merkel has announced that a state funeral will be held for the mighty mollusc before flushing his remains down a toilet.
