People are coming out of the woodwork with theories about how Paul, the psychic octopus, actually predicted the outcomes of so many World Cup games over the past weeks.

Irma Lier, from Todsport, New South Wales says:

"In my humble opinion, the owners of Paul, the psychic octopus paid off all of the players in the World Cup. The footballers watched videos of the predictions in their changing rooms before the games and then they went out onto the field to bring about the predicted outcome. That can be the ONLY answer."

Another person interviewed, Mark (no second name given) of Lancaster, England, said,

"Well A meself think tha' Paul's owners 'ave a time-traveller on their staff an' A think the time-traveller went into the future like. Then, wen 'e came back, 'e knew the results of the games and then........and then, Paul's owners or 'andlers or wo'ever, sealed the top o' the losing team so Paul couldn't ge' 'is fish ou' - righ'? Then Paul 'AD t'pick winning team coz 'e 'ad no choice. An' tha's the truth!"

Anyone else with theories about Paul's special skills should go and whip themselves silly with a long piece of liquorice COZ PAUL IS SPECIAL AND I BELIEVE IN HIM.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
