Danish soldiers examine weapons confiscated from U.S. troops following President Obama's surrender.

Copenhagen,Denmark-Without a single shot being exchanged, President Obama has surrendered his authority, and the sovereignty of the United States, to the Danish Government, in the form of the Royal Guard.

The elite military force had been assigned to meet the president's plane when it landed in Copenhagen on Thursday. Although there was no way for them to know that events would unravel the way they did,the troops wasted no time in taking full advantage of the opportunity. The president showed no sign of resistance and was promptly taken into custody.

In emergency session, just hours after the president's surrender, the Danish Parliament declared war on the United States. Moments later the Danish government declared victory over the United States and all it's forces.

Speaking to a world-wide audience from a holding cell within Amalienborg Palace, An ashen faced Obama was forced to repeat the conditions of surrender he agreed to on the tarmac at Værløse Air Force base just outside of Copenhagen.

At the same time a terse statement was read before a joint session of congress, to the people of the United States, by Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. In her speech the congresswoman confirmed that the president had indeed surrendered:

"After being the first person to de-plane after the long trans-Atlantic flight, and being startled by the sight of so many Danish soldiers bearing weapons, The president threw up his hands and begged the soldiers not to shoot."

""I surrender!", he said to the armed troops, who promptly took him into custody and escorted him to Amalienborg Palace. As of now we are all citizens of the Danish Republic. Guds hjælp, Folkets kærlighed, Danmarks styrke."

In Denmark citizens danced in the streets, celebrating the unexpected and bloodless end to the war few were even aware of. The country's Queen Margrethe II promptly declared the event "Victory for Denmark day". It was, in turn, promptly shortened to "VD Day" by Danish Broadcasters.

"We are overjoyed!" exclaimed Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen. "It just goes to show what a well prepared and combat ready Military force can accomplish when given a chance to perform as it ought."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
