Barrack Obama has won the Global "Pieces" award. Its awarded by the Glasgow Council every year for the world leader who makes the best sandwiches.
This year Obama entered the traditional sandwich known to Glasgwegians as the "Piece and jam". This was a winner because every poor wee Glaswegian person knows all about "Pieces and jam". Its what you eat when you can only afford to pay the electricity bill but can't actually afford to pay the gas bill in order to make your gas cooker work.
It is believed that Obama made this gesture because he feels so sorry for all the people in Scotland this year who won't be able to pay their gas bill because of the 60% electricity rise announced today.
It means lots of "Pieces and jam" will be eaten in Scotland and as many as 1m Glaswegian will freeze this winter. Dave McTaggart of the Glasgow Council said. "Obama's pieces were the best because they showed solidarity with poor people all over the world. I'm sure every nation has their equivalent of "Pieces and Jam". Good Old Obama - still in touch with poor people, even though he was never actually ever poor himself. Now that's a bit special."
