Pigs and general swine (not General Swine - he was the one who defeated the Aztecs in Venezuela during World war Two) have been put on full alert as a form of Human Flu sweeps through farmyards, abattoirs and bacon-curing plants in Mexico.
The minister at the Mexican Department for Pig Affairs, Signorita Porque Skratchins, has issued an immediate red alert for all pigs. A special website, at www.makinbakin.pg, has also gone live on the Pigternet.
Pig embassies throughout the world have been issued with details of where pigs currently on holiday outside Mexico can receive their human flu vaccine prior to their return to the country.
Spokesman for the Association of World Pigs, Lord Porky Pig of Warnerbroz, said that this was a major world catastrophe.
