In a surprise decision today, an American court has ruled of the Malawian family who have been trying to adopt the International Superstar Madonna.
Having agreed with the family's assertion that Madonna's real parents Madonna and Silvio Ciccone had not raised her to sufficient standards the court ruled that the adoption should proceed.
The family has presented Madonna's troubled past, string of unsuccessful relationships, borderline pornographic book and indecent exploits all as examples of the poor and unstable upbringing that the poor 50 year old multi millionaire has been subjected to.
Madonna will join the Bingu family and be a sister to their 7 sons and 4 daughters. It is believed that the family intend to keep her name as Madonna.
The judge in summing up described how she had been victim to a "fundamental lack of parental support" and that her adoption by the Malawian family was "hopefully a step towards a healthy and stable life".
Bono, famous singer and activist said "the family should be applauded for what they are trying to do".
