TCI Coastguards rounded up the last of the Haïtian Naval task force off Providenciales yesterday and all are being held at Sapadilla Bay detention centre pending special rendition. However, several boats are reported off the southern Bahamian island of Great Inagua and a few have been seen off the Florida Keys.
Early landings by Haïtian troops have almost completely decimated each other, or have been captured by the united resistance of Turks Island Belongers, Expats and Dominicans. Now the attempted reinforcements from Haïtian boats on the Caicos Banks has now been halted, the waters lie open for the Fuerzas Armadas de la República Dominicana waiting on the Southern horizon. The beleaguered islanders now brace themselves for their second invasion in less than a week, with a third of their numbers expected to switch sides.
Gilly Willy and his PNP Pirates remain holed up in Parrot Cay.
Meanwhile the UK Naval Task Force steams closer across the Atlantic.
