The European nation most infamous for injustice, torture and persecution has brought suit against six US Bush administration officials alleged to be involved in torture. The Obama administration has recognized that his predecessor's underlings did employ torture in their war on terror but nothing even resembling an investigation nevermind legal proceedings have begun under Obama.
Spanish law in cases like these require that they proceed with criminal trials. Spanish Inquisitor Torque mada told me that the main Spanish objection involves the totally inept torture methods of the Bush administration:
"Four hundred years ago we conducted a reign of terror that got real results. we had informants pleading to confess and turn in legions of their enemy comrades. We will bring these Bush league torturers to justice if only because they give inquisitors a bad name."
Torture is now the 23rd policy under Bush that has been declared totally inept by experts in the field.
