Bush and "a great pal, Eddie"

Outgoing US President George Bush spoke today about the "greatest time of his life" in reference to his tenure as leader of the most powerful nation in the world.

With apparent non-recognition of his influential post Bush declared, "I can't tell you what a swell time I've had these last years. The travelling, the adventures, meeting some fantastic people, the food and above all I got paid for it. This is something you can't misunderestimate !".

Bush even seemed to be somewhat confused about the nature of his main residence, The White House, when he said," You won't believe how good a hotel the (White) House is. So much fun and plenty places to hide, kick back and drink beer. Maids to bring you anything you wanted at anytime of day, such as pizzas and comic books. Hell I even had a Chopper (helicopter) come pick me up from outside on the lawn and take me on to the country to go fishin'. "

When quizzed on who he would remember most from his meetings abroad Bush replied, "Why hell, it's got to be Blair. Yes sir, that English President Gordon Blair has got to be one of my all time best pals of all time."

A full transcript of this speech will not be serialised in further editions.
