A New York cab driver, from the borough of Queens, who was reported missing for 10 days, has been located in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
The taxi driver was in good health and appears to have not suffered any duress apart from a little tiredness after having driven approximately 11,300 miles.
Bulgarian police interviewed the man today and were told that he responded to a call for pickup in Albany, however he had trouble finding the correct address and kept driving until he suddenly realised 10 days later that he wasn't in mainland USA, but in eastern Europe, the central part of Bulgaria.
Stan Bukowski, the 3 times married owner of the cab, said he doesn't understand why he kept driving so far but says that he would do it again at a pinch.
"It sure was a happy accident" he said. Bukowski was fortunate enough to pickup 2 fares in Sofia just before Police spotted him.
