Within minutes, the average price of gasoline nationwide soared to $6.99 and 9/10 per gallon.

FoxNews industry analyst and Sean Hannity Show producer Flipper DeBird explained that it was in response to revelations that the "carcass" of the elusive creature was in reality a costume made of petroleum products, triggering a sharp international increased demand for Bigfoot costumes.

In related news, General Motors announced plans to alter the design of its Chevy Volt electric car so it can also be powered by the burning of shredded Bigfoot costumes.
