A pale and sickly looking Prince Philip coughed his way through a ceremony at a state banquet last night.
The 86 year old Duke of Edinburgh looked short of breath and uncomfortable while meeting 300 guests at an official dinner in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
The coughing fit prompted new fears for the Royal, just a month after he spent three nights in hospital with a chest infection.
One shocked onlooker said, "He looks dreadful. To be honest he really does appear to be on the way out. The fear is that he may pull through yet again. Philip has had at least four serious health scares since 2005, including being bitten in the Dardanelles by a rabid German Shepherd back in January of this year. The Prince was left unscathed whilst rumours continue to circulate that the dog has taken to verbally abusing what it considers 'lesser breeds' such as Otterhounds and Beagles".
However Mr David Byrne, Professor of Cardiology at Bristol University claims that concerns that the 'Corfu Chancer' will make a complete recovery are unfounded.
"I would like to reassure the great British public that given his age and apparent symptoms, I would be very surprized if the Prince was singing 'Auld Lang Syne' later this year"
