Lesbos locals suggesting Lesbians should now be called "Salmon Lickers"

Campaigners from Greece's third biggest island today won a court injunction banning the use of the word Lesbian.

The 100,000 inhabitants of Lesbos are behind the court action claiming they have the rights to the word Lesbian. In court papers, the plaintiffs allege they are so embarrassed by the term Lesbian that it has been forced to rename the island after its capital, Mytilini.

The term lesbian originated from the poet Sappho who was a native of Lesbos and had declared her love of women in poetry around 700 BC.

Suggestions for a replacement term for Lesbian include;

  • Salmon Licker
  • Tad Biter
  • Strap on Sally
  • Muff Madam
  • Fish Monger
  • Clam Smacker
  • Velcro Fastner
  • and the old favorite Carpet Muncher

Which term the gay community will adopt is yet to be determined, but our money is on "Woman in Comfortable Shoes."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
