Pasadena, California (IPP) - Search for Extraterrestial Intelligence (SETI) Technicians monitoring the M42 and M43 region of the Orion constellation discovered the Exoplanet Delta Orionis last October. They had encountered promising signals from the fourth brightest star in Orion during a routine sweep of the region. Now SETI technicians have detected television broadcasts from Delta Orionis which represents the first solid proof of life on another world.

The technicians recorded a one hour documentary from the exoplanet which sheds light on a world where the population is very small and threatened with extinction.

The inhabitants of the exoplanet numbered as high as 400 only a few months ago. Almost half of that number has since died from chronic, unstoppable laughter. They had been watching the 2004 Presidential race in the United States after picking up Earth's television broadcasts in their own SETI program. Television signals from Earth take four years to get there.

The Orionids thought it was extremely comical how the candidates promise things to the masses and then after being elected the promises are forgotten over night.
The Orionids bodies can not tolerate laughter and it is as deadly to them as cyanide is to humans.

Some of their television signals were lost and it is still not clear which promises or campaign rhetoric killed off the 200 Orionids. Some of the SETI technicians have been arguing whether it was the promise of change, tax reform, or how the politicians keep such a straight face when they say they are there to serve the public.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
