Maharishi Mahesh Yogi the Indian guru who founded the Transcendental Meditation movement, a Hindu practice of mind control died at 91, in the small Indian village of Vlodrop, Netherlands.
He was most influential in the 1960's with a number of prominent celebrities, all denying he ever had any mind control over them, Clint Eastwood ("Go ahead make my day"), Beachboy Brian 'nervous breakdown' Wilson, Donovan ("To Susan on the west coast waiting"), and probably the most famous of all ,the Beatles("Within You Without You").
At his bedside were his many friends, including George Harrison, John Lennon, Dennis Wilson, the Chicago Seven and The Dave Clark Five with "Bits and Pieces". Shirley MacLaine couldn't make it but sent an 18th century gentry from the southern Indian state of Kerala in her place.
It is believed he had put himself into a state of speechlessness shortly before losing his mind and wasn't able to communicate to anyone what was happening.
