A fish in Peru has allegedly "walked out" of the sea in a port north of Lima. It took many on-lookers at a busy fishing port by surprise when the fish, thought to be an Island Coral Trout, not native to the South Pacific Ocean, merely wandered across the harbor.
Claims were initially dismissed as a mass hallucinogenic episode by authorities but the incident was apparently captured by a local news station covering a story about economic oppression of the village fisheries, which has been driving up prices in the nearby fish & chip shops.
Juan Cors told TheSpoof.com of the story, "it was amazing - he just wandered out, turned and looked back at the sea, then just walked up to this bench".
The fish has been questioned by police and is said to be in a comfortable condition. Chief of Police, Detective Inspector Jose Domingorge said after an initial chat with the fish "he just got bored of swimming about and fancied a stroll on the beach. He never thought he would attract such attention.."
