US and A (Defense News Weakly) - The Honorable George W. Bush today announced that he intends to send a submarine under the South Pole to plant a US flag. In a measured response to last week's move by Russia to plant a flag under the North Pole, Bush sent his press secretary Tony Snow to address reporters.
"The President is showing America's determination in the face of Russian aggression," said Mr. Snow. "He is not going to back down on this one. He even plans to invite Santa Claus to move his operation down to the South Pole when all is said and done."
Mr. Bush refused to comment on submarine operations, except to say that he enjoys playing with them in his tub on 'bath night'.
