Göttingen, Germany (Associated Content) - In a show of partnership, Dick Cheney, Angela Merkel and Vladimir Putin will welcome World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) -- to be officially celebrated from August 1st through 7th.
Aktionsgruppe Babynahrung and La Leche League will co-host the opening ceremonies for this weeklong event to be celebrated in more than 120 countries throughout the world. A live demonstration by Merkel and Putin is expected. Mr. Cheney will not actually attend the event in person, choosing instead to video teleconference from the Mammals Building at the Washington D.C. Zoo.
Deutsche Welle is expected to devote an entire week of coverage to the event, which will culminate in a worldwide synchronized breastfeeding on August 8th at 10 a.m.
