Tokyo, Japan - (Ass Mess): Forty nine magicians belonging to the National Magic Circle of Japan are suing a TV broadcaster for revealing to Japanese movie star Maiko Kawakami that the $2,000 new breed 'poodle' she bought recently was really a sheep.
The illusionist entertainers are seeking $1,600,000 in damages from Nippon Television Network Corp and TV Asahi Corp.
They claim their reputation has been ruined by outing them as the machiavellian brains behind the Kawakami deception which has resulted in massive loss of face for the budding young starlet and worldwide oprobrium in the poodle breeding industry.
The suit has been filed with the Tokyo District Court and says that the broadcasters "instantly deprived professional magicians of their assets," built up through the "accumulation of ideas and long-term practice."
Kawakami meanwhile has been too stresses to show her face in public after being outed as not knowing a sheep from a dog after neighbors said it took her nearly six months to realise what had happened after seeing the TV broadcast which blamed the magicians' ruse on her hoodwinking.
