Ministers face a fight to get mentally ill people through Parliament.

The bill, which falls under the new mental health act, will allow people to be held against their will, even if they have not committed a crime.

This will enable New Labour to lock up all opposition parties prior to the commencement of the next election thus taking all potential opposition out of the running.

Shadow health secretary Andrew Lansley said the government's latest proposals would make it easier to have people sectioned, so increasing the pressure on the system. A reporter for TheSpoof.com was despatched to interview Mr Lansley, only to find that he had been sectioned earlier that day.

The bill would allow people with personality disorders to be confined if they were judged to be a threat to themselves, others or the chances of labour winning the next election.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
