There they were a dispatch of Arizona National Guard sent to protect our southern border through the dark of night. Along came a group of armed individuals, no one knows if they were undocumented immigrants seeking asylum, drug smugglers on their way north, Minutemen lost as usual or an invading army with cross-bows from the Duchy of Grand Fenwick. At any rate our brave troops decided to abandon their post and allow the armed invaders to take over. (Not unlike our commander in chief who went to Texas to fly fighter jets during the Vietnam War. Vietnam, North or South, by the way, is not very close to Texas, north or south).
An even better part of the story is what Republican Rep. "Mental" Warde "Wooden" Nichols of Gilbert, AZ had to say: "Why are they running?...Why should they have to run when they have illegals coming at them armed with guns?"
In private, sources close to "Mental" Warde suspect that he wanted a skurmish as in the days prior to the Mexican War. Wooden Nichols is known for his regret that we didn't demand the Pacific and Gulf Coast areas of Mexico in the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo. A resort builder, when he is not legislating , he often says according to friends: "I could have been the 'Donald' of the Mexican Rivieras!".
In a related story, a Border agent shot and killed a man believed to be an illegal entrant. The man's six companions surrendered peacefully but this one individual fought with the agent. After being shot, the entrant fell to his knees and was heard to yell: You'll never get our Riviera , "Mental" Warde "Wooden" Nichols!"
