There was 'annoyance in the air' in East Yorkshire this morning, when a man answered his telephone, only to discover that the person who was calling had dialled his number by mistake, and had intended to call someone else.
The man, Moys Kenwood, from Hull, was roused from his slumbers at 4:57am by the ringing of his Nokia 6300 telecommunications device, and fumbled around until he was able to press the key that answers the call. What he discovered, made him angry.
The voice at the other end of the line, a woman's, said:
"Billy?"
Kenwood replied in the negative, but the voice wasn't to be put off:
"Where's Billy?"
Now fully alert, the Hull man said:
"Billy's dead."
There was silence. Then sobbing started:
"Oohhhhh no! I warned him this would happen! Oohhhhh!"
At this point, Kenwood decided to end his conversation with the caller, and did so, only briefly wondering where Billy was, and why he had been warned that death would happen to him.
Then he went back to sleep.
