On Friday, Spain's foreign minister Marinero Pescador issued a statement implicating that foreign agents from the Canadian province of Newfoundland have been meddling in the recent Catalonian referendum:
"Lord thundering Jesus, mi amigos, first those Newfies blame us for depleting their cod fish stocks, and then they try to retaliate by destabilizing our country. I'll bet that they're just envious of our ability to cook fish without a ton of salt, and turn it into a tasty dish that won't rot your guts out and land you in intensive care with cardiac arrhythmia!"
Newfoundland premier Dwight Balls replied: "Sweet lardy Jesus, b'ys, I'd like to send he a barrel of Screech as a goodwill gesture, but, first, he has to tell me what he's been after drinkin'!"
