This weekend's premiere is being launched in the Vatican City where the Pope and his coterie have suddenly remembered a very pressing prior engagement in the Land of the Infidel.
So no need to get the red carpet out for Their Eminences who are boycotting the movie 'in case her waters suddenly break and embarrass the Pontif'.
In the US evangelical nutters have already slammed the shameless actress for her sacrilegious audacity and labelled the premiere as a cynical chick-flick publicity stunt.
And in Rome a spokesperson for the Papal Council for Culture which is hosting the post-premiere reception has hinted darkly that there may be 'no room at the inn' for the film's leading lady in the event that she asks for a little traditional hospitality after the show....
