image for Hackers install stent in Belgium's first subterranean beer pipeline
Plumbers soon bunged up the siphon at street level

Bruges, Belgium - A newly constructed two mile underground pipeline carrying 1,320 gallons of beer per hour between a Bruges brewery and a bottling plant has been hacked.

Police arrived this morning at the Belgian Hob Goblin Brewery amid reports that an entire night's production of 15,000 gallons of Pale Ale had been siphoned off enroute to the bottlers.

Within minutes cops' advanced computer-guided drilling techniques borrowed from the fracking industry saw probes burrow inside the stricken tunnel.

Brewing staff later confirmed investigators uncovered a sophisticated stent inside the polyethylene pipework about 100yds outside the brewery compound.

Its is believed the highly complex scam diverted most of the missing 15,000 gallon haul to a hidden reservoir inside a waiting container truck on Wilhelm Pissartiste Strasse.

A reward of 100 gallons of Brewers Droop Lager has been offered for information received.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
