Belgium's jelly reserves were sold during the financial crisis of 2001.

As financial crises hit countries around the world, Europe has been particularly hard hit. But little is heard of poor Belgium, its small economy nestling hairily between the driving buttocks of Europe - France and Germany.

While Portugal, Greece and Ireland are having their budgets trimmed like a vain nudist with overgrown pubic fuzz, Belgium's problems have been better hidden from view and also apparently harder to reach.

But now the butt-plug of financial austerity is heading Belgium's way, and it's bound to make all observers wince.

Sadly, Belgium has chosen this week to introduce the rationing of jelly and jelly products. This includes jelly for edible and recreational purposes, so Belgium is certainly in for a rough and chafing ride.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
