VIENTIANE, Laos - The Ukraine has expressed its sincere gratitude to the tiny country of Laos for donating $16,000 to the cause for freedom.

The Laotian government stated that they are in the process of possibly shifting some funds around and they could end up donating another $3,000 by the end of the month.

Government spokesperson Pak Shu Fong stated that Laos has not forgotten that 19 years ago when the dreaded monsoons hit the Southeast Asian country, that it was the Ukraine who sent them 80,000 raincoats and 70,000 pairs of galoshes.

Pak Shu Fong said that he personally received one of the raincoats and a pair of the galoshes and it made him feel like a million dollars.

He noted that he still has the raincoat but added that he thinks a possum may have made off with both galoshes.
