PARIS - The French government has reported that its financial situation is almost getting as bad as America's.
A high ranking official stated that there has been talk coming out of President Francois Hollande's office that one way to quickly raise some much needed revenue would be to sell the Eiffel Tower.
A French poll recently revealed that 93 percent of all Parisians are not happy with the prospect of selling the most famous of all French landmarks.
One citizen identified as Jean Charles Croissant, 71, said that selling Eiffy, as it is affectionately known, would be like selling off another French treasure Brigitte Bardot.
Croissant suggested that perhaps an alternative would be to sell off the French Riviera since it is just nothing more than a sand-filled playground for the rich and famous.
SIDENOTE: When the high ranking official was asked if the French government had any idea who would want to buy the Eiffel Tower he grinned as he took a sip from is bottle of sauvignon blanc wine and replied, "Ah that would be China."
