The village of Fucking, which is just north of Salzburg in Austria, has decided to ballot residents on a change of name. This move follows years of ridicule and being the butt of many poor taste jokes.
The village dates back to the middle ages and is currently home to 104 residents, or Fuckers, as they are known. Its neighbouring villages are Lower Fucking and Upper Fucking.
The mayor of Fucking, Herr Heinrich Fisting, told us "The Fuckers of Fucking are completely fucked off with being fucked over by Fucking visitors. Enough is enough. We are sick of constantly having our Fucking place name signs stolen by puerile British tourists. We don't even care if we are the number one search on Google maps. What is this big Fucking joke?"
The ballot, which requires a simple majority of Fuckers to vote for a name change, is planned to be held in the coming months. According to the local bookmaker, Erich Koch, the most favoured name appears to be Arsch End.
