Washington, DC - Quite obviously, the longest 40 minutes of US President Barak Obama's life was waiting to find out if the Bin Laden raid was successful. What people would like to know, however, is what happened during the second longest 40 minutes of Obama's life.
The President remembers it vividly even though he would very much like to forget it ever happened. When he and the First Lady were first married, they only had one car and he had to go with her to go shoe shopping. "It sucked," he said. "All I wanted was to shoot hoops with the guys, and I had to take her to the mall."
As the President recalls the horrendous moments of sitting around the shoe department of JC Penny's, he shudders. "It was only 40 minutes, but I felt like I was in Dante's inferno; or maybe being grilled by an appellate judge. It was pure hell watching her try on shoe after shoe. High heels and flats in all different colors and styles."
He went on to explain that the First Lady wound up not even buying shoes that day. "She must have tried on 200 pairs of shoes and made me tell her which ones I liked, and after all that, she didn't buy one damned pair of shoes."
"Definitely, that was the second longest 40 minutes of my life," he says shaking his head.
