People of Sendai, Japan Send Condolences to People of Boston

Funny story written by b kenneth mcgee

Saturday, 9 April 2011

It arrived yesterday addressed to the people of Boston, a huge card from the people of Sendai, Japan. Despite the devastation of the recent tsunami and the tremendous loss of life and resources, thousands of the senders expressed their sorrow for Red Sox fans.

The card read in part: "We, the citizens of Sendai, Japan send our warmest greetings and best wishes to you. Although we have been devastated by our loss of life, property, and our entire economy, we have never lost six straight. We have lost much but never lost our pride.

The card was signed by thousands and included a postscript as follows: "Although our entire economy is smaller than the payroll of the NY Yankees, we have asked each citizen of Sendai to send a dollar to your team. Also included are a thousand knives, no, not for hari kari but for next time dreadful Yankees come to Fenway!"

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
