Gay marchers were celebrating tonight after it was announced that the annual gay march is to become a monthly event in the state of Texas, where there is an ever-increasing number of confirmed homosexuals.
Currently, the march is held once a year, but Gay Pride of America representatives say that, in order to facilitate all the state's gays, many more marches are needed.
Figures from 1996 show that there were only 248 registered gay people in the entire Lone Star State, but new statistics published last week in Gay News show that there has been a dramatic increase, and that there is now 'one on every corner'. Numbers continue to increase daily.
Opposition to the marches has been slow to surface, giving rise to speculation that there will be no protest, and that it won't be long before the whole state of Texas is declared 'pink'.
