MIAMI - Forecasters say Tropical Storm Hermine (hur-MEEN') has crossed into Texas.

Hermine rolled into Texas Tuesday morning with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph (95 km), disappointing all cable news networks (CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, CNBC) and crushing The Weather Channel's hopes.

"This is the second disappointing storm in a week", said Michael J. Kelly, President/CEO of The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC). "Hurricane Earl caused no significant damage and now Tropical Storm Hermine appears to be impotent and limp."

"Our shareholders count on bad weather to bring us ratings and revenues, but this storm has failed miserably. Hopefully, a new category 4 or 5 hurricane will help turn this recession around", he added.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
