A truck driver who killed 8 members of the audience in a Monster Truck Rally in the Mojave Desert in California has been told he won't be prosecuted, thanks to a stupid law that gives Monster Truck drivers immunity from criminal proceedings.
The driver's 12 foot high and 12 foot wide "Bigfoot" truck demolished a barricade, tearing into a group of bystanders, including children, leaving at least 50 with serious injuries and 8 dead. Paramedics were called to the scene and one reported that he had never seen carnage this bad before.
Californian Highway Patrolman Chip O'Connor said "Once we realised he was a Monster Truck driver, we let him go. This guy's a hero, driving his Monster Trucks every Saturday. Hell, we should be sending the audience to jail for whinging about minor injuries."
The unnamed driver thanked the police for letting him go and said "Sorry about the deaths, see you all next week."
