A new rat study by the combined underground transit systems in New York and London say that the rats are actually taking over the underground and that more must be done.
John Denweir of New York Transportation stated that they, like London, have previously scattered boxes of poisoned food hoping that that would solve the problem. But, after careful study by committees in both countries, say that the rat population has tripled, at least.
"Not only that, but the number of nutjobs..sorry..ill people are dying by the hundreds trying to eat the same poisoned products or roasting a rat that been poisoned," stated Denweir.
A London reporter who went with a delegation underground stated that the walls actually move in some places and that more and more rats are climbing on board and frightening passengers.
"Also, we've had a lot of skidding trains lately because of the number of rats ran over on the tracks."
Both committees are recommending the total shutdown every three to six months for one day to the politicians in each country. On that one day, an army of pest control people can go after the rats.
"However", Denweir shrugged, "We have recommended similar methods before and have had no response."
"The rats will soon be so bad no one will want to ride underground. Maybe then, their brothers in Washington and London will allow us to at least thin the rats out."
