Lady Liberty and the popular icon Godzilla have been selected to appear as partners in the July edition of Dancing with the Stars.
"We chose July to tie the show in with other Independence Day celebrations," a spokesperson for the show explains… Why Godzilla?
"He was the only star big enough to be her partner, besides, she think he's cute. They are already rehearsing together and they look great."
Inside sources however say there have been a few problems.
"Lady Liberty keeps dropping her torch and even set the stage on fire once and Godzilla ate someone in the audience."
These problems don't seem to bother the shows sponsors who are signing up in droves. Fuji films of Japan and Nippon Airlines are putting a travel package together for the Japanese residents who wish to travel to attend the show.
"If we iron out a few problems, it will be a great cultural melt. A safety shield will be put on the front row to prevent Godzilla from eating anyone and the tastier people will be seated in the back row. Lady Liberty has agreed to put her torch in the off position for the actual show to prevent anymore fires."
Anybody talking about possible competitors for the show?
"King Kong and Medusa come to mind."
