The pilots of a commercial passenger jet that overshot its destination by 150 miles have claimed that they were not on the plane. They were having a drink at the airport bar and lost track of time.
Air traffic controllers attempted to contact the Airbus A380 with 144 passengers for more than an hour but received no answer to their calls. Some reports had suggested that the jet might have been hijacked by aliens posing as the real pilots at the bar.
The pilots claimed in an interview with National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) that they lost track of time while emailing their families on their laptops. They were on their personal laptops, which violates the company's safety policy.
An investigation is under way to find out who was actually flying the plane.
