LONDON - Dance and drama teacher Danyl Johnson brought the house down on The X-Factor, which is Britain's equivalent of American Idol.
The 27-year-old sang a version of Joe Cocker's "With A Little Help From My Friends" and he brought the audience to their feet. Even the man in the white T-shirt, Simon Cowell gave the Ryan Seacrest lookalike a standing ovation.
Johnson later said that he thought that Simon was just standing up to go to the bathroom.
Judge Cheryl Cole said that Danyl gave her goosebumps, chills, and something else that she did not want to mention.
Simon asked her to write it down on a piece of paper and when she did and she showed it to him he turned three shades of red.
Judge Louis Walsh said that with his great voice and good looks he may soon be putting away his classroom pointer.
Danni Minogue the fourth judge blushed as she turned to Walsh and said, "You said pointer."
Minogue then confessed that as she sat their listening to Danyl sing he got her so excited that she came very close to jumping up on stage and asking him to marry her.
Danyl remarked backstage that he would have said yes in a Manchester minute.
Cowell meanwhile could not stop smiling as he was busy counting the millions of dollar signs in his head. Simon, who owns 19th Hole Productions has the first rights to sign Johnson, which is really a forgone conclusion.
Danyl Johnson, the Reading, England native is certainly on his way. He told his sister backstage that it looks like he may be able to finally pay her the 500 pounds ($819.84 in U.S.) that he has owed her for 12 months.
She laughed and told him not to worry about it and that for Christmas he can just buy her a house in Canterbury.
SIDENOTE: Simon Cowell remarked that by the end of the year the school teacher will be so rich he will be able to buy every single school in Reading and even marry Danni Minogue if he wants.
