Hoboken, NJ - Hoboken Mayor, Peter Cammarano, is believed to have quite a presence in the New York underworld. Although the mayor, at 32, seems to be rather young to have any kind of reputation in 'La Cosa Nostra', it is believed that he has been operating in this seedy business as Vishram 'Five Fingers' Shoe, since the age of 8.
"Five Fingers got his nickname because when he started out in this business, he used to do a lot of phone work, soliciting bets for the local bookies. That was back when push putton phones first came out, when the dial was replaced by push buttons. He used to use all five fingers to dial the number, rather than just one. It was quite a unique talent and was immediately noticed by his overlords," said Frankie 'No Bones' Bonanno.
"Why they called him 'shoe' is anybody's guess but it could be because no one liked calling him Cammarano. Shoe is shorter than Cammarano. I swear, sometimes we spend more time figuring out a nickname for a guy then actually committing crime. What's that about? Hahahaha!"
Another source stated that Cammarano had been given the name 'shoe' as he had a habit of using nail polish and didn't want to be caught wearing flip-flops or sandals.
