Vice President Joe Biden admitted yesterday that he left the economic stimulus package at his dentist's office when he went in for a routine cleaning.
Biden said he was called into the exam room and even brought the package, which he had in a shopping bag, because "he knew how important it was and didn't want to lose it."
Biden than said he "must have been distracted because he left the package on the floor next to the receptionist" he thought, but couldn't find it when he went back to look for it.
"Darn it, this really makes me mad" exclaimed Biden.
(President) Barack was really upset, Biden related, although he added "the president made it sound like he understood that mistakes can happen."
Biden also surmised that "someone may have walked off with it by mistake, since it was in one of those "Trader Joe" shopping bags and lots of people carry those."
Biden also said that he didn't think his dentist deliberately took it since "he's good people and no one there is like that."
The dentist said that "Joe is always losing stuff. He claimed last year that he left an interstate tariff bill here."
The dentist added that he never saw the bill, though "one of our patients said he found something weird in with our Entertainment Weekly's."
