The musical version of "Little House on the Prairie" launches a national tour in St. Paul, Minnesota, this fall, with great songs like "Pa, Don't Lose Your Brass Monkeys During The Blizzard", "Piecing A Quilt Nine Miles Long", "Prairie Dog Stew For Supper Again?" and "There's An Indian At The Door Selling Peyote Buttons."
The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts announced Monday that "Little House, The Musical" will kick off its 2009-2010 theater season, followed by another musical, "Marshall Dillon."
"Little House" had a sold-out run when it premiered at the Arlo Guthrie Theater, which used to be a restaurant, in Minneapolis last summer.
"Marshall Dillon" will feature "The Festus Booger", "The Miss Kitty Rag", "Doc, My Ass Has Got A Hole In It" and "Matthew's Untied."
Actress Melissa Gilbert will again play Ma Ingalls as she did at the Guthrie. Gilbert played Laura, the daughter of her stage character, in the 1970s TV series based on the "Little House" books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Pa Ingalls will be played by Gene Ingalls Wilder.
"Little House" will run on the Ordway's Main Hall stage from Oct. 13-people quit coming to see it.
