Fans of vaudeville were practically frenzied with apathy last night at the news that music hall comedian 'Cheerful' Charlie Chipstick is beginning a new tour.
The renowned alcoholic, famed for his starring role at the Job Centre, is set for a comeback with his one man show 'Stop Fannying About!' His last stage show, 'Bit nippy ain't it?' was described by critics as 'extremely adequate'.
'Cheerful' Charlie held a press conference to a gathering crowd at a High Wycombe bus stop saying: "I say, I say, I say my mother-in-law's so fat she's practically housebound and on anti depressants." The crowd apparently didn't wish to know that and he was shortly asked to move along.
Chipstick's UK tour begins next Thursday on Worthing Pier at 7.30pm.
In unrelated news, Worthing Borough council have confirmed that Worthing's historic pier is scheduled for demolition next Thursday at approximately 7.40 pm. The National Piers Society was said to be 'bothered'.
