The previews of an off off off Broadway musical entitled Thank your Mofo of a Mother, God Damn it! has attracted rave reviews and sell out crowds night after night. The show was inspired by an experience its author and maternal namesake had when caught in traffic on the Long Island Expressway, the longest and narrowest parking lot in the world.
Cars ahead of her vehicle each had bumper stickers demanding that people thank a cop, a teacher, a cobbler and Obama. The playwright and lyricist didn't expect a thank a dramaturgist but she did note that her identity of mom had no representation amid the gratitude placards:
"This was my inspiration for TYMMGDI! Right there in traffic I began to storyboard the plot and made preliminary notes for the songs, You Came Out of My Cootch; I Suffered Like Hell and the feature number, Kiss My Cheeks You Ungrateful Bastard!.
