Big Bird was sold to Perdue and Miss Piggy was sold to Tyson Foods. It emerged the stars were sold and butchered to pay back mortgages to The Cookie Monster.

'Nova' had their final program last night. It was about The Crash. The program only lasted seven minutes because they ran out of money.
Donations from corporate sponsors ended the day the stock market nosedived. There won't be any more individual donations either. Even the most liberal democrat is too busy buying food, water and guns.
'The Newshour With Jim Lehrer' had their final broadcast last night before the curtain came down and everything at PBS was repossessed. Jim Lehrer burst into tears and wished everyone good luck in the New Depression. The screen then faded to black. Suddenly, Gwen Ifill appeared dressed as Porky Pig and said ---"That's All Folks!!"
